An opportunity exists for 1 Civil Engineer to join Radiation Safety Department (R&D By-Product) at LAMP, Kuantan. He/she will be responsible to oversee the construction of by-product storage facility (offsite) and manage the transfer of by-product from onsite to offsite storage facility in compliance with the regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Supervise the construction activity of the by-product storage facility, verify the engineering drawing and design following technical and regulatory compliance, plan and manage the by-product transfer activity from onsite storage facility to the approved offsite storage facility, daily monitoring and progress report, review and monitor construction schedule.
• QA/QC of construction material and verify compliance with project specifications, review the laboratory testing activity including soil compaction, geotechnical investigations, concrete testing, and earthwork verification.
• Support the R&D initiative at improving by-product handling, storage, stabilization, and disposal practices, , identify opportunities to improve residue deposition methods, water recovery, storage capacity and operational efficiency, review and analyse by-product characterisation data, participate in pilot studies, and field trials for by-product improvement and commercialization.

 Requirements of the successful candidate:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with 2 to 5 years’ working experience in civil construction with strong proficiency in applicable engineering software.
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively at site, leading to increase in productivity and efficiency during operation.
• Positive working attitude toward responsibility and task given.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to confidently interact with people of all cultures at all levels.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English. Additional language will be an advantage.
